Frequent Questions

How much does it cost?
  • Tandems – $165.00
  • AFF Level 1 – $275.00
  • Video – $70.00
Is there an age limit?

Yes, all jumpers must be at least 18 years old.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes, for tandems the maximum weight is 185 lbs. Maximum weight for AFF jumpers is 230 lbs. The limits are set for safety reasons and are ultimately decided upon by our instructors and Safety and Training Advisor.

How high is the jump?

We take our plane to 10,500 feet (just about 2 miles) above the ground. For our first time jumpers, this gives about 30 seconds of free fall, and about a 5 minute canopy ride. This may seem like a very short amount of time, or the longest moment of your life! Everyone experiences it a little differently.

How fast is the free fall?

An average of 120 mph

How long does it take?

For tandems, please plan on spending 2-3 hours with us, and possibly more depending on your group size. For AFFs, plan on spending the whole day.

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothes and secure shoes. We will provide you with a jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles.

Can I eat before?

We recommend having a light meal or snack so that you aren’t jumping on an empty stomach, but it is up to you. We definitely advise against having a large meal right before, especially if your are prone to motion sickness!

What if I get sick?

This happens sometimes. Your instructor will give you directions on what to do if you start to feel sick. Usually this occurs once the parachute has opened and you have made some turns. If you know that you are sensitive to motion sickness, let your instructor know before hand so they can adjust for a relaxed flight pattern.

Is it scary?

Yes, but in a good way! If skydiving is something you have always wanted to try, it will be a thrill! A little bit of apprehension is normal, after all, it isn’t something most people do every day.

What if the parachute malfunctions?

The skydiving parachute system is equipped with a series of back ups, including a reserve parachute and an automatic activation device. This, combined with the knowledge base of your instructor and the training you receive if you are an AFF student, provides solutions to most problems that are commonly encountered. That being said, we acknowledge there is inherent risk in everything we do in this world and that there is no perfect system. Our top priority is the safety of all our jumpers, and we will always take the necessary steps to ensure this continuity.
